The Conservatoire du Littoral: a French public organization created in 1975 to carry out a land policy to protect coastal natural areas in metropolitan France and overseas. Its missions focus on the preservation of ecological balance and landscapes, and the development of tourism in respect with the sensitivity of the sites. Its main activities are land purchase, property management and development. In 2018, the Conservatoire du littoral manages an estate of 200,000 hectares (495,000 acres) on 700 sites covering 13.5% of the French coast.
Associated beneficiary
BRGM is France’s reference public institution for Earth Science applications in the management of surface and subsurface resources and risks. BRGM is the French public body for geological survey.
